Keith Sweat was one of the kings of that late '80s R&B style, which fused funky hip-hop beats with pop-soul singing.

Sweat's debut album Make It Last forever (1987) was very successful, selling over three million copies. It also had a Hot 100 Top 10 hit "I Want Her".

Another huge success was Keith Sweat (1996). It spawned top hits like "Twisted" and "Nobody". The self-titled album went four-times platinum, becoming his most successful album ever.
